Green Workers Initiative

The Green Workers Program is an initiative of DBRC focusing on improving the living conditions of Waste Pickers and Sanitary Workers.

A study on the living conditions of the Waste Pickers and Sanitary Workers conducted by DBRC has revealed that they are living in a very pathetic situation and are deprived of basic govt. services like PDS, ICDS, Water and Sanitation, even identity cards.

The goal of the Green Workers Initiative Program is –

• Waste Pickers both formal and informal have dignified life and livelihood in Andhra Pradesh.

The objective of the Program is -

• To improve living conditions of Waste Pickers and Sanitary Workers in Guntur and Vijayawada Municipal Corporations. 

To form a functional Co-operative with 1000 Waste Pickers.
